Mary Elizabeth Callow

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Elizabeth Callow, a beacon of warmth, kindness, and love whose life profoundly touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. Mary passed away peacefully on December 21, 2024, surrounded by her devoted family, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and joy.
Born on August 16, 1970, in Queens, NY, Mary was the beloved daughter of Kevin and Ann O’Shea. She grew up in a close-knit family alongside her sisters, Kathleen and Maureen, fostering bonds of love and laughter that remained unbreakable throughout her life.
Mary’s journey took a beautiful turn at Fairfield University, where she met the love of her life, Jim Callow. Together, they built a life filled with love, joy, and unwavering devotion to their two greatest accomplishments—their children, Brendan (24) and Emma (21). Mary’s steadfast commitment to her family made her the heart of their home, a source of unconditional support, and a model of love and resilience.
Mary is survived by her devoted husband, Jim, her cherished children, Brendan and Emma, and her loving mother, Ann O’Shea. She is also survived by her beloved sisters: Kathleen Dolan (Patrick) and Maureen Daniewicz (Kevin) and her nephews: Jack and Kevin Dolan, and Brady and Quinn Daniewicz. Mary’s love for her family was boundless, and her memory will forever illuminate their lives.
To all who knew her, Mary was the embodiment of compassion and generosity. Whether lending a listening ear, offering a helping hand, or sharing her radiant smile, she had a way of making others feel truly seen and loved. Her friends and family will forever treasure the countless memories of her joyous laughter, her comforting presence, and her incredible talent for bringing people together.
A celebration of Mary’s life will take place on December 22, 2024, from 4:00-8:00 PM at St. James Funeral Home in St. James, New York. All are welcome to honor the memory of a woman who brought so much light to the world.
Mary’s legacy of love, strength, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though her time with us was far too short, her impact was immeasurable. Rest in peace, Mary. You are deeply loved and will be missed more than words can express.
