Matthew Vinskus, 50 years old, passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 27, 2021 in Nesconset NY from congestive heart failure. Matthew grew up learning his father’s trade and craftsmanship as a master carpenter. He established himself as a successful Construction Project Manager. He loved the outdoors and nature, enjoying time fishing, hunting, kayaking and quadding.
Though generally very quiet, he was compassionate and had a great sense of humor. He often helped family and friends with projects around their homes, always available to lend a hand. Once disabled Matthew still found ways to help and spent some time volunteering at the Smithtown Food Pantry.
He is survived by his wife, Heather; mother, Josephine Staff and her husband, Ken; his brother, John and his wife, Lori; his sister, Lisa Knapp and her husband, Robert; and his youngest sister, Ann Marie Eterno, and her husband, Paul. He was also a loving uncle to his nephews and nieces: PJ, Josh, Melissa, Emily, Olivia, Emma, Claire, and Garrett.
He was preceded in death by his father and mentor, John Vinskus.
He will be deeply missed by his family.
John 11:25-26.
