Norma Vila Vigo Fonseca Pace, 85, of Seaford, New York died Saturday, July 25, 2020. Born and educated in Cuba, she became an American citizen and spent her early career working in business and childcare. Norma married her soul mate, Agostino Pace, in 1964. They raised their family in Brooklyn and Seaford.
Norma was an exceptionally kind and generous person who brightened the days of all who knew her. Norma loved to learn about different cultures and celebrated diversity—she believed in the value of hard work and providing equitable opportunities for all people. Norma was a fantastic cook, preparing the most delicious and flavorful meals for family and friends; and had a green thumb—she was one with nature cultivated a beautiful garden of flowers, figs, herbs and vegetables. Norma took great pride in the accomplishments of her children and, more recently, her grandchildren, who brought her so much joy.
Norma was predeceased by her stepson Angelo Pace. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Agostino Pace; children: Anthony and his wife Lindsey (Armstrong) of Glen Ridge, NJ; Michael and his wife Thea (Orefice) of Marlboro, NJ; Patricia of Brooklyn, NY, stepdaughter Marie Vilinsky of East Stroudsburg, PA; nine grandchildren: Stephanie Vilinksy, Daniel Vilinksy, Christopher Pace, Amanda Pace, Alexander Pace, Samuel Pace, Maximus Pace, Brady Pace, and Atticus Pace; a sister and brother-in-law: Maris and Raul Carbajal of Miami, FL; and many wonderful and loving nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Monday, August 3 at 9:30am at St. William the Abbot Roman Catholic Church, 2000 Jackson Ave, Seaford, NY 11783. In accordance with Covid-19 restrictions, there will be a maximum of 100 people allowed in the church, masks and social distancing are required.
