Pearl D. Hutse-Whittaker passed away peacefully at her daughter's home on July 2, surrounded by family.
Pearl was born in the Bronx NY on May 21, 1928 to Palmer and Mary Turco. She is survived by her children Daniel Vaughn and wife Alice of Ashland, New Hampshire; daughter Joann Magri and wife Andrea of St. James, NY; son Kenneth Vaughn and wife Gail of Smithtown NY; daughter Janice Rodighiero of San Felipe, Mexico; daughter Virginia Levey of Port St. Lucie, Florida; six grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; her sister Virginia Buono, and a nephew two nieces. She is pre-deceased by her husbands Joseph Vaughn, William Hulse, and Clyde Whittaker, and her sister Gloria Impavido.
Pearl raised her family on Long Island NY. Pearl loved her family, and she loved to travel, play golf, and play cards. She moved to Florida in 1997, and loved her life there, living near her daughter Virginia, where she enjoyed estate and garage sales, and visiting with friends and neighbors. She crocheted many
afghans and baby blankets for her loved ones.
Visitation will be at the St. James Funeral Home on July 9, 3pm-9pm. Graveside service will be on July 11, 11am at Nassau Knolls Cemetery in Port
Washington. The family is grateful for the care of Pearl by VITAS Healthcare of Treasure
Coast (VITAS.com) and donations in her memory may be made to VITAS or St.
Jude Children's Research Hospital (st.jude.org).
