It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Peter Richard. Peter passed away peacefully on March 16, surrounded by his loving family, at Hospice House in East Northport, NY. Peter, was born February 22, 1936 to parents Alfred Joseph (‘AJ’) Richard and Victoria Himmelman in Jamaica, NY. Peter was a 60-year resident of Fort Salonga, a decorated Armed Services veteran, and executive of PC Richard & Son, founded by Peter’s grandfather Pieter Christian (‘PC’) Richard, in 1909. As a business executive, Peter was a deeply respected leader, known for treating his employees as an extended family. But Peter’s first priority was always his own family. “Pop-Pop”, as Peter was affectionately called by his loved ones, devoted every moment of his life to filling his family’s life with love, generosity, and laughter. Peter, who is predeceased by wife Nancy, is survived by brother Gary, his five children (Susan, Kim, Patricia, Peter, Jennifer), fourteen grandchildren (Courtney, Christian, Lauren, Zachary, Victoria, Robert, Matthew, Peter Jr, Ashley, Sarah, Hannah, Luke, Amanda, Natalie), and great-grandchild Kassidy.
