Raye November Obituary

            Raye I. November was born on September 4, 1935 in the Bronx, New York.  She passed away on November 30, 2023.  Raye was predeceased by her parents, Arthur Redlich and Elizabeth Potdevin (Fonjallaz) and her loving husband, Richard A. November. They were married for 54 years. 

She is survived by her three children, Jim November, Karen Hoeg (James), and Laura Bonanos (Michael) and 7 grandchildren – Katie Hoeg, James Hoeg, Riley Hoeg, Mackenzie Hoeg, Ally Bonanos, Nicholas Bonanos and Julianna Bonanos.

Raye was raised in the Bronx and attended High School at Washington Irving having graduated in 1953. She graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology with a degree in fashion design and worked for Mardi Gras and other designers in New York City which is how she met her husband, Richard. The two later married September 14, 1963. Prior to moving to Nesconset, New York they lived in Holland, Pennsylvania.

After marriage, Raye worked as a homemaker raising her three children until she went back to work. She was the owner of a local bridal store - Bridals by Raye in the Colonial Shopping Center in St. James which she operated for many years before she retired. She spent her retirement traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

She spent her free time painting and sewing and was an avid quilter and member of the St. James Lutheran Church quilting group. She was a long-time member of the Smithtown Garden Club and was well known for being a good cook and baker.
