Raymond Bernard Obituary

Raymond A. Bernard passed away peacefully at home with family on January 19, 2025 at 98 years young.

Ray was born in Brooklyn, New York on May 21, 1926. Ray is survived by his daughter Karen and his son-in-law Robert Tetrault. He was predeceased by his wife Joan and his son Kevin.

Ray left behind two grandsons Brian (Chrissy) and Jon-Paul (Kelli) Tetrault and his five great-grandchildren Kailee, Jake, Billy, Tyler, and Colton. Ray was married many years to Judith Tarduno-Bernard (our angel) where they resided in Florida. Together they shared a stepdaughter, Judith Ann Brown and stepson, William Walsh (Maria) and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. To some he was known as Ray, to others great-grandpa Ray and to some he was known as Papa Ray. He joined the Navy during World War Il and served in the South Pacific as a radio man. Ray moved to Long Island in 1957. Ray by trade was a mechanical engineer but his love for woodworking was his true passion. He could build just about anything due to his engineering background. Ray was an avid fisherman and loved boating.

He was also a member of the VFW in St. James, New York. Ray was a very proud Irishman who was the amazing patriarch of his family.
