Richie Siebel was wonderful husband, father and grandfather as well as a dedicated and very fair teacher with a great sense of humor. He loved coaching boys soccer, wrestling, track and girls volleyball. Some of his proudest moments (other than of his family) were meeting former students years later who thanked him for changing their lives for the better because of his fairness and sincere concern for them.
Richie is survived by his wife of more than 60 years Pamela (nee Taylor), his son Richard Michael (Lori) Siebel, of North Carolina, his daughter, Elisabeth Ann Given of Lake Grove, NY, his grandson Brett Evan (Jenna) Siebel and granddaughter Bailey Renee Siebel both of North Carolina and his granddaughter Jillian Taylor Given of Lake Grove, NY. Richie is also survived by his two brothers, Walter and Robert, sister Ellen Leiss and sister-in-law Dorothy Taylor.
Richie was a big fan of listening to the radio; of civil war books; of any books on trains; of rock and roll music (to listen to and dance to); and of the New York Mets.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in his name to the American Diabetes Society.
