Rest in Peace to
Robert Paul Galvin
aka Bob Galvin
12/03/1946 - 11/05/2025
Bob’s legacy continues with his wonderful family who will miss him very much. His beautiful wife Maria, his 7 loving children Tracy, Robert, Kim, Jennifer, Joseph, Maria & Michelle, and his 7 grandchildren, Tyler, Ashley, Samantha, Drew, James, Joseph & Brendon. Bob was also blessed with his wonderful daughter in-law Nicolette, and amazing son in-laws: Terrence, Joe, John, Diego, Jason and Mike.
Bob was the son of the late Letizia B and Frank Galvin. He was the oldest brother to his siblings Marie, Tommy & Theresa.
Bob was always looking out for his wife & the beautiful family they created. He knew a lot of stuff about a lot of things! His memory was amazing to the smallest detail from long ago.
He did everything around the house. If it broke he fixed it. He loved his tractor & snowblower. In recent years he took over the shopping & cooking and was quite creative with his air fryer!
He held many jobs as a very young boy helping his mom & siblings support their household in times of need.
His passion was aviation. He took a course in transportation management after HS in Queensborough college and worked for American Airlines for many years, his last role with them as an Operations Supervisor. He had flown a small prop plane on his own when young.
Back when American was transitioning some of their departments to Dallas, Bob and Maria chose for Bob to give up the job he loved to stay in NY to continue to be close to our large extended family. This enabled many memories with his & Maria’s parents, (Letizia Rose & Joe) and giving his children such closeness to their aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that are family, that support us here today.
Bob later got into the insurance industry to support his family which he was doing up until he passed away.
Bob loved fishing and boating. He resisted an iPad when we first got him one, but it ended up being the best thing we ever got him. The man of total efficiency now could find everything at his fingertips, from parts to fix things himself, to finding his After 8’s in England during Covid supply chain shortages & other things that made him happy.
He was a super efficient and intelligent guy in a very quiet way. He absolutely loved tracking us on his iPad, especially when we were traveling. He wouldn’t just track our flights, he would track where the plane started from the morning and followed the whole route as if he was at American Airlines again. If you called him while he was tracking one of his children, you would be hearing him listening to the cockpit and all the runways calls and whatever information you’re allowed to hear online. He would be updating us of the delays and gate changes of our flight, while we were at the airport, before the airport updated us on site. It was pretty funny. He really loved that.
Once you landed, you would get a text saying that “your stalking services have concluded, love the master stalker” lol.
Bobby, Daddy, Grandpa we will miss you so much. We are heartbroken about losing you & can’t believe you’re gone. We will miss your emojis and well timed Bitmojis.
Please continue to look out for us, especially Mom, when you’re not too busy looking at all the planes up there. We love you.
