Ryan Michael Jack Birbiglia, 27, of Milwaukee, WI, passed peacefully on October 20, 2019. He was the eldest son of Karen and Stephen Birbiglia. He attended grade school and high school in St. James, NY, before moving to Milwaukee, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology & Marketing from Marquette University. While there he was involved in the Finance, Economics, and Marketing Clubs. An avid lover of sports, he excelled in volleyball, baseball, and rugby and played for various clubs and teams throughout his life. He was a fan of the New York Mets and Chicago Cubs. Ryan will forever be remembered for his incredible sense of humor, quick intellect, and warm-hearted empathetic charm. Ryan worked as a volunteer for various causes that were dear to him including as a trainer for Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind, a caregiver at St. James Retirement Home, and a mentor at Operation Dream, a mentoring program designed to give young males, ages 4-17, the support and guidance they need to become men of significance in their community. Most recently Ryan was employed as a Systems Analyst for one of the nation's largest law firms, Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c.. Ryan is survived by his parents Karen and Stephen; his sister Brittany and brothers Marc and Dean who adored and idolized him. He leaves his maternal grandmother, Diane Bacich; and his paternal grandparents, Jack and Mary Birbiglia; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many close loving friends. He is preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Elio Bacich; and maternal great-grandparents Jack & Noemi Micheli, and Nerina Bacich. Anyone whose life was touched by Ryan is better for the kindness, the wisdom, and the humor that came from him. We are grateful to have had him in our lives, though heartbroken that he's gone too soon. To many of his family members, he was our Winnie the Pooh, who appropriately said, "How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard." Contributions in memory of Ryan may be made to Marquette University's College of Business Administration Scholarship Fund at https://give.marquette.edu/business and list Ryan's name in the Tribute Information section.
