Scott Manuel Fitzgerald, 58, passed away peacefully at home on January 3, 2026, surrounded by his beloved family after a valiant ten-year battle with Multiple Myeloma.
Born on December 23, 1967, in Syosset, New York, Scott was the youngest of three children born to Rose Fitzgerald and the late George Fitzgerald. He grew up in Commack, NY alongside his siblings, Mary Beth and George. From a young age, Scott was known for his mischievous spirit and sense of humor — famously once placing a sprinkler inside a neighbor’s home and turning it on, a story that would live on in family infamy.
Scott attended St. Anthony’s High School, where he excelled academically, a foundation that later led him to earn his bachelor’s degree from Villanova University. His professional career was nothing short of impressive. Beginning as a financial advisor, Scott worked relentlessly to become a Certified Financial Planner, a Certified Investment Management Analyst, and ultimately the president of his own firm, Steel Ridge Advisors. Through his vision, work ethic, and integrity, he grew the business to a level that attracted a successful partnership with UBS, allowing him to expand both his impact and his legacy.
Above all else, Scott was a devoted husband and father. He shared 30 years of marriage with his wife, Christina Fitzgerald, and was the proud father of three daughters: Samantha Fitzgerald, Christina Fitzgerald, and Sarah Fitzgerald. He was also a loving father-in-law to Michael Rutecki and a cherished uncle to Karissa Voyias, Karley Voyias, and Anthony Fitzgerald.
Scott found joy in the simple pleasures that made life rich: a good round of golf, an excellent (and preferably expensive) scotch, Giants games, long days in Fair Harbor on Fire Island, and time spent with family and friends. He adored his dogs, Diesel and Daisy, and was well known for sharing photos of his meals on Facebook — always with enthusiasm and pride.
Scott is survived by his wife, Christina; his daughters, Samantha, Christina, and Sarah; his son-in-law, Michael Rutecki; his nieces and nephew, Karissa Voyias, Karley Voyias, and Anthony Fitzgerald; his mother, Rose Fitzgerald; and his siblings, George Fitzgerald and Mary Beth Fitzgerald.
The impact Scott made on this world was larger than life. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. His legacy lives on in the family he loved so fiercely
